Fosse Singers are a non-auditioned SATB choir and we welcome members over the age of 18 to join us. We perform a wide range of traditional and contemporary material; folk, pop, spiritual, jazz, songs from musicals and light classical. Fosse Singers were delighted to take part recently in the Big Birthday Celebration at De Montfort Hall, in aid of Rainbows, to celebrate the 50th birthday of BBC Radio Leicester, singing medleys of songs from the 60’s, 70’s as well as more recent songs.

We rehearse on Wednesdays during term time at the Fosse Centre, Mantle Road, Leicester, (off Fosse Road North), from 7.00 to 8.45pm. New members are always welcome. For more information talk to a member of the choir.

We welcome new members over the age of 18 to join us. Contact us to find out more.

  • BBC Music Day – Platform to Perform

On Friday 28th September 2018 we were excited to take part in BBC Music Day – ‘Platform to Perform’. Choirs and singing groups from across the UK performed at railway stations throughout the day and we had the honour of singing some of our favourite songs at our very own Leicester Station. Not only did we entertain the commuters, but we were broadcast live on East Midlands Today’s evening news! BBC Music Day aims to ‘celebrate the power of music to change lives’. This is a concept that the Fosse Singers certainly believe in, and we hope we brought a little Friday night joy to all of the commuters and passers by. We had a fantastic evening, and would like to thank the staff at Leicester Station for making it happen and supporting the choir members throughout the evening, and Emily and team from East Midlands today for another memorable experience.

  • The Greatest Show!

We would like to thank everyone that came to see us at our summer concert at the New Walk Museum. We were so pleased to see so many of you, especially in the unusually hot weather! The evening had a fantastic energy and we also have a special thank you to The Snowfathers for being part of it with us. It was especially fun for us to sing some choir favourites and the new Greatest Showman repertoire which you will definitely hear again. Your comments made us very proud so here are a few quotes to share with you…

“…there were several generations of my family in the audience ranging from 80 to 8. They have all been sending me messages to say what a fantastic night they had …”

“…the venue was totally appropriate and added to the night giving it the setting we deserved.”

“I am just coming back down to earth after the amazing concert on Saturday.”

  • “Alice in her Shoes” at Curve Theatre

In October 2017 a group of 20 members were involved in a production of a play called “Alice in her Shoes” at Curve theatre, this told the story of Leicester Suffragette Alice Hawkins who bravely fought for equal rights for women. This led to a historic unveiling of a 7ft bronze statue in Leicester Market Place of Alice to mark a 100 years since the right to vote was won. Hundreds gathered for the unveiling which received international press attention. As a result of the interest and success this created 2 further productions of the play will be taking place at Curve in October 2018 which Fosse Singers will again be performing in.

We hold 3 concerts each year to celebrate the end of each term with a grand performance. We also participate in various events throughout the year and appear on BBC Radio Leicester.
